Schiffting Gears To Expel
Adam Schiff may be in hot water but knowing our good ol' friends, congressional Republicans, "May" might be doing a bit of heavy lifting here.
Before we get into the fun of exposing Schiff’s corruption, I’d like to ask if you can to become a paid subscriber to support my ability to prioritize pumping out great articles like the one you see. This is not compulsory nor do I paywall work, simply a nice ask.
If you think that Adam Schiff should not be expelled for his various abuses of power and misrepresentation of information as well as his involvement in the propagation of fake information to our intelligence depts and coordination with the media, you may want to be checked.
While in his position as Chairman of the Select House Committee of Intelligence, he was found in several instances:
-Lying
-Misrepresenting information
-Abusing his access to classified and personal data for political purposes.
Possibly one of the most egregious was when he came out and claimed to say what President Trump has discussed with Zelensky of Ukraine on September 26, 2019.
He (Schiff) would later backtrack/clarify that he was giving "the essence" of what Trump said, but in fact he fabricated and exaggerated several parts of the conversation to make it seem more incriminating and coercive than it was.
A salient example of this being him saying:
"Trump asked Zelensky to 'make up dirt' on his political rival Joe Biden and his son Hunter, and that he threatened to withhold military aid and a White House meeting unless Zelensky complied." (Ironically similarly to what Biden had done except replace the 'making up dirt' with firing the prosecutor investigating Burisma.)
None of these statements were in the actual transcript released by the White House. Adam Schiff would later say he made those statements as a "parody" but that statement was completely asinine given that he was literally leading the impeachment inquiry into Trump.
If you want to go even further, Schiff's questionable conduct when it came to handling this Steele Dossier:
(A collection of unverified and salacious allegations about Trump's ties to Russia that was funded by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign. Many statements in this Dossier were debunked by subsequent investigations and statements like the ones given by Igor Danchenko & Sussman, both who were found to be lying to the Fed Bois in the FBI.)
Schiff repeatedly asserted that he had seen "more than circumstantial evidence" He touted that this Dossier which claimed that Trump had conspired with the Kremlin and that they (Russia) had compromising information on Trump was corroborated by several top sources in the intelligence community. Now given Schiff's position as Chair, one would have given him the benefit of the doubt on that statement. However, after a lengthy investigation, special counsel Robert Mueller found no evidence of such collusion. The walls were indeed NOT closing in sadly for many partisan hacks.
A report by the Department of Justice inspector general revealed that many of the dossier's claims were either inaccurate or contradicted by other information. To make the possible fictitious nature of this whole report even worse, it was revealed that Schiff had met with Glenn Simpson, the founder of Fusion GPS, the firm that hired former British spy Christopher Steele to compile the dossier, before Simpson testified before the intelligence committee in 2017. Schiff did not disclose this meeting to anyone in congress.
Continuing with the theme of Schiff's rampant and reckless abuse of power, he spammed Subpoenas like no other to obtain phone records of several individuals involved in the Ukraine controversy, including Rudy Giuliani, Trump's personal lawyer; John Solomon, a conservative journalist; Devin Nunes, the ranking member of the intelligence committee; and Jay Sekulow, another lawyer for Trump. There was never any legal justification or reasoning given for these nor was there any merit to these actions. Had there have been, it would have made sense to provide such justification as it would have been pertinent to investigations ongoing but these were simply maliciously obtained pieces of ammo for him. He then published some of these records in his impeachment report, revealing private conversations and contacts that had no relevance to the inquiry. Many legal experts and civil liberties advocates condemned Schiff's actions as a violation of privacy rights and a chilling effect on free speech and journalism. (Even moreso than Obama's AP Spying scandal.)
These examples show that Adam Schiff has used his position on the house intelligence committee to advance his partisan agenda and damage his political opponents, rather than to conduct fair and impartial oversight of the intelligence community. He has lied to Congress and the American people, distorted evidence, and invaded personal privacy. His behavior has only further contributed to the failing trust in the institutions, particularly the 3 letter public bureaus of questionable merit and has potentially jeopardized national security by exposing sensitive information.
These abuses, while egregious will probably be met with angry fist-shaking and nothing more as he coasts along to eventually have a long and fulfilling career as a lobbyist somewhere because I don't know if I can continue to hold out hope that the people in congress are capable of doing anything but creating enticing viral clips for slobbering Journos to propagate.
